Objectives

The Interdisciplinary Research Center for Mathematics in Science and Technology (IFZM) aims to stimulate scientific interdisciplinary collaboration between its members and their corresponding faculties within and across the University of Würzburg. This includes joint collaboration with other universities and research institutions and industrial collaboration with local SMEs. It nurtures fundamental research as well as application driven projects, where pure and applied mathematics is an indispensable tool. As a byproduct lecturing and further educational arrangements supporting research projects are offered. Moreover, the IFZM supports the organization and implementation of interdisciplinary research projects by providing human resources as well as infrastructure.
