Abstract:
The study of partial differential equations on manifolds has been extensively explored in the last
few decades. In particular, some problems arising in conformal geometry such as the classical
Yamabe problem, can be reduced to the study of PDE’s with critical exponent on manifolds.
More recently, another class of conformal equations that has drawn considerable attention is
the so-called Q-curvature equation, which is a fourth-order elliptic PDE with critical exponent.
In this talk, I would like to discuss how to apply classical fixed point methods in order to un-
derstand the Q-curvature equation in a singular setting and discuss some interesting problems
related to this topic.
