Winter Semester 2024/2025
Giovanni Prodi Visiting Professorship Winter Semester 2024/2025
Javad Mashreghi is Canadian Research Chair at the University of Laval (Canada).
His research interests are in Operator Theory, Complex Analysis, Harmonic Analysis and Potential Theory. A focus is on 'Spectral Function Theory', which combines Complex Analysis and Functional Analysis, as well as on spaces of analytic functions.
Javad Mashreghi earned his PhD in 2001 at the University of McGill (Montreal, Kanada) working under Victor Havin and Paul Koosis. He joined Laval University in Quebec City thereafter and was promoted to full professor in 2009. He is involved in a number of international cooperations and has been awarded a prestigious Canadian Research Chair in 2024. He is also a lifetime fellow of the AMS since 2024.
Professor Mashreghi has been awarded numerous research grants and he currently coordinates a research project in the theory of Reproducing Kernel Hilbert Spaces. He coauthored more than 130 research papers in outstanding journals such as the American Journal of Mathematics.
During the winter term (2024/25) Professor Mashreghi is going to give a course on Reproducing Kernel Hilber Spaces (RKHS). The course is going to take place in blockform from October to December 2024 and is going to be taught in English. The classes and exercises on RKHS can be used as Modul Giovanni-Prodi Lecture Selected Topics (10-M=AGPC-102). (See WueStudy)
