Oberseminar Mathematische Strömungsmechanik

Scattering theory (à la Kato, Lax, ...) is a ensemble of mathematical methods which is powerful for particles physics and for diffraction and reflection of waves. It has recently been remarked that linear Vlasov-Poisson equations can be rewritten as a scattering problem, provided one uses the VlasovAmpere form of the equations. I will review
a) the general structure of the method,
b) some results about the non homogeneous case and
c) recent application for a plasma in a given magnetic field.
